Bugalugs Nail Clippers (Medium – Large)

With a lightweight, ergonomic design, the nail clippers are built to be comfortable in the hand and as safe as possible. Our professional grade grooming tool is ideal for use by professionals in grooming salons, but also for at home use by beginners.

Say goodbye to pet anxiety and hello to simple at home grooming!  With the precision cutting stainless steel blades that create clean cuts swiftly (even with the thickest of nails) and a protective guard to prevent over cutting and potential injuries to the quick.

The non-slip handles makes them easy to grip securely, while the safety lock means you can store them without worry.

As an added bonus, the Nail Clippers include a nail file, which is stored securely in the bottom of the handle!

It is recommended that you trim your pets nails every 3-4 weeks and so you want to ensure you have a simple and easy experience, for both yourself and your pet! To do this, keep your pets body close to yours and hold their paw securely, gently pressing to expose the nail.

Unlock the clippers ensuring the safety guard is in place and hold the clippers over the nail at a 45-degree angle, keeping in line with the natural curve of the nail.

Cut just the tip of the nail straight across, taking care not to cut the nail too short as you risk cutting into the quick, however if you do accidently cut the quick simply apply Bugalugs Styptic Powder to the nail and apply pressure until the bleeding stops.

If your pets’ nails are very long, make sure to only trim a small amount and then trim again in a week. The quick will retract, which will decrease the risk of accidental injury.

How to use:
Trim your pets nails every 3-4 weeks, or when you hear their nails clicking on the floor.
Keep your pets body close to yours and hold their paw securely, gently pressing to expose the nail.
Unlock the clippers ensuring the safety guard is in place. Hold the clippers over the nail at a 45° keeping in line with the natural curve of the nail.
Cut just the tip of the nail straight across - take care not to cut the nail too short as you risk cutting into the quick. If you accidentally cut into the quick, apply styptic powder to the nail and apply pressure until bleeding stops.
For pets with very long nails only trim a small amount and trim again in a week. The quick will retract over time.
